I Ceanothus a fogliame persistente sono meno rustici delle varietà a fogliame caduco, debbono essere piantati in posizione bene esposta e soleggiata, contro un muro oppure ad ovest.
Presentano piccoli fiori in pannocchie. I colori sono più accesi di quelli delle varietà caduche.
Temono l'eccesso di calcare nel terreno che preferiscono fresco.
Si può ovviare alla potatura.
A volte è necessario accorciare, in Aprile, i rami dell'anno precedente.
